In line with our philosophy of extending the capabilities of Open source products to provide enterprise class administration and reporting capabilities, we have developed a reporting application for Hylafax server.
This application logs the fax server usage to a Mysql database. It also calculates the cost of each fax dynamically using the rates maintained in the database. All this done on the fly enabling real time reporting.
The application is tightly integrated with the Hylafax server and hence can expand to handle any number of channels that the server is configured with.
The client portion of the application can reside on any (one or more) workstations and provides an interface for the designated person to maintain the application and generate a variety of reports.
The email of the user is used for tracking the faxes and hence offers maximum accuracy. This application coupled with user authentication on the fax server will ensure that the usage of network fax services are logged and reported accurately.
The application uses only opensource components and is developped in JAVA, whiich makes it cross-platform compliant.
